Would you keep your medicines and general medical stuff in the downstairs toilet ?

Trying to get cupboards and stuff re- organised as I don't have alot of storage.

I have a small downstairs toilet and I saw an over the toilet free standing " thing " ! Unit ? that has shelves and a double door section.

It would make the toilet room less bland .

I was thinking of putting all the tablets/plasters/ big movicol boxes (!) and stuff in there.

Is it un hygienic ?

I can't make my mind up !
Thanks .

Aren’t most medicine cabinets in the bathroom?

SiobhanSharpe · 23/02/2023 13:58

I have an enormous cabinet in the downstairs cloak room where i stick first aid stuff etc, waspeze, elastoplast etc. Never gave it a second thought.

I suppose I am overthinking it as in it is just a toilet as opposed to being a bathroom!

I think I am going to go with a cabinet on the wall as opposed to free standing .

Either way I will need someone to make/ fit it .

Now I just need to find something for the floor to hide the dreaded TB !!

Of course it's not unhygienic, I assume everything is packaged up and in a cabinet, not laid all over the floor

Hi OP, our downstairs guest loo/WC is the place we store all our random medicines as the space over the loo would be unused otherwise.

I like things plain and easy so I went to Ikea and bought a single white gloss kitchen wall cabinet. Absolutely massive and very cheap, inoffensive, a great size. Also their little storage boxes fit it well, which makes it easy to keep everything tidy.

Local handyman did the fitting for £40 cash. Recommend it!

We have all our medicines, first aid kit etc in a drawer in the kitchen. Storage under the basin in the 'cloakroom' has spare toilet roll and bathroom cleaning products in.

That sounds handy can you share the link please?

Ours (now there are older) is all in a tall thin cupboard at the top of the stairs. Along with upstairs cleaning products and spare loo roll.
