It's quite big but as you can see very messy with no order.it's normally got boxed tools piled up in there too. You have to get everything out when you want to get something.
We need pretty much everything in there. Tiny house so this is important storage.
It's in our living room.
We have about £2.50 to spend. OK maybe a bit more but not much and definately not enough for anything bespoke and I'm not building anything other than flat packs!
I don't know what to do with the bit with the steps as that goes really far back (we could fit a laid down dining chair) without even reaching the fuse box so I want to use that space.
We think the wall with the fuse box has lots of wires etc so we don't want to drill into that. The other wall is thin plyboard. The door itself is also thin plyboard.

I love these sorts of threads!
I had a really cheap Argos set of drawers “gifted” to me. When it fell apart (pretty much straight away) I took out the big drawers to make a contained space. The two top drawers remain. It does attract clutter but it’s big enough to take stuff like summer garden cushions and lounger and also store smaller bits.
The back is basically cardboard so you could remove a section to give you access to the fuse box.

Soooo apparently it has weird measurements. especially once you add in the meter boxes and vacuum cleaner.

The best I could do was a couple of single, narrow depth trofasts. Trofast because you can take the drawers out to see the epectricity meter (and I got fed up of looking!). I got a tall one to go in front of the electricity meter. Then I got a shorter one for in front of the gas meter but it faces the wall next to the electricity meter rather than the front because there wasn't enough room to open the drawers otherwise. I also bought wall shelves but I've a feeling I ordeted the weong size. Not sure when they'll be delivered.

Far from ideal and it will still look a mess. I think shelves would have been better but the height and depth was an issue. The gas meter sticks out from the wall (it is safe apparently) so takes up much more room than it should.

As for the bit under the stairs, it'll have to be for things we need but don't use much eg decorating stuff. We'll need to pull out the drawers completely to get to them.

So, still far from ideal and I need to jiggle things about (the paint can't stay like that as it's guarenteed they'll get knocked off) and I need to sort out what goes in each drawer but I can now get everything in, including Henry (just!).
Some things have had to go behind the small drawers but they are stuff we don't use much.
I think this is the best I can do.
Free access to the gas meter and you can get to the electricity meter by removing the top drawer.

That's an improvement OP Smile

Ours is similar, weird dimensions & difficult to organise. I ended up putting narrow shelves (b&q cut to size) and have (tried to) sort stuff into boxes, use them as shoe shelves etc.

But we still have a dumping ground of tool boxes etc on the other side.

I took out a drawer and put most of the paint there instead. Cleaning stuff on top so not a big deal if something does get knocked off (and no excuses not to use them now. 🤐)
Ignore Henry, he's drunk again.

Some sort of storage trolley on wheels so you can pull stuff out from the back easily. I have a couple with three wire baskets each but plastic drawer units on wheels would also work. IKEA, B&Q and the like all have them
