Is it cheeky to ask you to design my guest room?

We have just moved to a 90s 4 bed house which is great but all the decor, carpets, textured ceilings haven’t been updated in 25 years!
I’m 37 weeks pregnant and had an initial burst of energy before Christmas - we have painted a bit - the hallway, stairs, landing are dulux timeless, lounge / diner is dulux summer linen.
Big jobs like bathrooms, our bedroom, ithe kitchen and downstairs flooring I’m leaving until after baby is here - but I really want to get the guest room nice! Somewhere for my Mum to stay or DH if he needs some rest.
We’ve stripped the wallpaper and had the ceiling smoothed and painted, I’m just at a loss for paint colour / carpet / curtains / everything! I’m worried to paint it the ‘wrong’ colour and it look terrible - or be difficult to match a carpet, curtains etc.
I wondered if any of the wonderful people on her could point me in the right direction? I’m not bold enough for anything dark or any feature wall. The room is 2.7 by 3.7m and east facing with no interesting features. DH has vetoed anything gray, and doesn’t want green walls (but happy for green accents). I don’t think we are fussy, I guess a neutral / boho vibe would be nice, something light and airy. I’m worried of doing the whole house too white / beige. We’ve lived in rentals moving most years since uni so have never decorated before.
We will probably put our bed in there eventually which is quite simple oak, otherwise we also need all new furnishings as our things are hand me downs which have been though half a dozen rentals with us!
Anyway - thank you for reading! Any suggestions on where to start (or just tell me what paint to buy!) would be so welcome.
Our budget is dulux / ikea / cheap carpets but we could afford to go above that for a few bits of the job.

East facing is nice in the morning.

Walls neutral, you could do it in Timeless

I'd go with a neutral floor, carpet medium oatmeal with a fleck or something.
Curtains - neutral, but a blackout blind fairly neutral colour. You'll need the blind if you don't want guests waking at the crack of dawn in summer

Furniture depends on the space but either use what you have or maybe ikea. 2 kallax units with a rail between them?

Bed - comfy mattress and pillows with a wow cotton duvet cover prob ikea again. Nice sheets

Bedside table and lamp
Rug
Mirror
Dressing table

I'd say do peachy walls and then forest green accents and lots of natural materials, woods, hessian etc.

Relaxing jungle Ibiza vibes

Eat facing - so You will have the rising sun. So you need some blackout curtains! Perhaps in teal.

I'd go with pale yellow walls to feel nice and warm. That would go with the pine bed. Couple of pine bedside cabinets, teal bedding, yellow/teal cushions, throw, perhaps a nice house plant in a teal pot and a couple of photos in teal/gold frames. Bob's your uncle.

Neutral carpet would be good, but go for short pile not textured, as they're a devil to hoover...

We got blackout curtains from Dunelm and they're great. Look more expensive than they were! www.dunelm.com/product/luna-brushed-teal-blackout-eyelet-curtains-1000083341

I should have said full length mirror, and that my suggestions were based on something bland because you will be probably be too busy to change it if you don't like it.

My preferred colur for the walls would be a light green, but your DH doesn't want green.

Thank you everyone for your advice! We’re going to get one coat of timeless on the walls this morning (we have plenty leftover which is a plus) and see how it looks - it will make a good base coat if we decide to go for something with a bit more yellow. It would also be a good base for a statement wall if I feel more adventurous in a few weeks.
I like our summer linen colour downstairs (chosen to match the existing fireplace and carpets) so might get some more of that.
Might just order a neutral carpet today!
