Pictures for landing/stairs - what's currently fashionable?

I'm going to paint our hall/stairs/landing this spring in a neutral (cream) colour.
Would like to get some new pictures and whilst I don't want to be only buying what's fashionable I would like something up-to-date/current. Am looking for something for that long wall ahead of you as you come down the stairs as well as something to go up the stairs (long plain wall) and have a space or two on the landing which will look bare without a picture. Hall is tiny with no wall space so nothing needed there. Any inspiration gratefully received :-)

I don't think there is a particular fashion unless you want the "live laugh love" type signs which are more cliche than fashion. I think the closest thing to a trend I've seen is a lot of neon signs in homes.

We have a big ski resort poster which was DH's when he lived in his flat years ago. It's in a bog standard A1 ikea frame. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1150289509/ I know someone who has a cool giant print of a Queen Of Hearts card.

One of my friends has a mirror like this: www.therange.co.uk/home-furnishings/all-mirrors/mirrors/large-rectangular-window-mirror-distressed-metal/#524630 but she made it from mirror tiles and wood trim to be tall and narrow, about the size of a door.

Another has a gallery of prints and mirrors in a mix of frame shapes, sizes and fabrics. Mostly black and bronze. It's floor to ceiling with plenty of space between each thing. Kind of similar to this but with mirrors and a few trinkets (like a hanging string of birds) annas-attic.com/how-i-created-my-stairway-gallery-wall/

Another has a wallpaper mural with the rest of the stairs and landing painted to match. I think it's this one www.grahambrown.com/uk/congo-teal-bespoke-mural/120279-master.html?catId=decorating-wall-mural-view-all#lastPID=120279-master&start=1&cgid=decorating-wall-mural-view-all

With art i'd say be lead by what you like and what is your personal taste. I would leave fashion out of it - your the one thats going to be looking at it every day!

If you want it to look fashionable like an Instagram account, then lots of colourful modern typography style prints and the ubiquitous Matisse cut out.

We've got a gallery wall on the stairs and it's truly eclectic. There's watercolours and oils that my grandmother did, DD's school photo, our wedding photo, a vintage travel style print of where we married, a clock, tin signs, framed cards, and some modern prints. I wouldn't call it fashionable but it makes me happy.

Choose what you like and you can't go wrong.

I agree that it's better to chose what you love than what is fashionable.

In our hallway/staircase we have bird pictures - some original, some prints - including a gallery wall going up the stairs. Of these many are vintage whilst a few are new. We've gradually collected them over the years from ebay, fleamarkets, antique fairs and carboots as well as TK/Homesense.

We love them and don't care if they're on trend or not.

Choose something you love rather than fashionable.
We bought some square picture frames we really liked and chose photos we loved. Printed them off in black and white and mounted them then put them on the stairs wall.
I love them. They make me smile when walking up/down the stairs even when having an awful day.
