Candles, and a decorative glass pot that I put random bits and pieces in, until I can be bothered returning them to their correct places.

MassiveWordSalad · 15/01/2023 09:55

A bowl of pebbles. Question for those with plants - is it ok to put plants on a windowsill with a radiator underneath it?

gogohmm · 15/01/2023 10:07

Whatever dp got out of his pocket, dust and a screwdriver currently

UncleQuentinsWife · 15/01/2023 10:08

My make up, thats where I put it on.

.

Where do you buy your streptocarpus from? I always used to have them but can't find one now.

Anisina · 15/01/2023 10:10

Nothing as it's very narrow. The cat manages to balance on it to chirrup at the birds in the big tree outside though.

We have a muslin curtain and a blackout blind, so tend not to have anything on the bedroom windowsill, though it does have one of those little dehumidifying boxes at the moment. I am not big on things in windowsills due to my clumsy nature and propensity for Knocking Things Over.

MintJulia · 15/01/2023 10:16

I have four bedroom windowsills. They have .....my childhood piggy bank, a small bronze of a woodnymph, a large cream & blue jug that I put cut roses in, and one has two pictures of my ds and a blue Chinese bowl.

All were gifts except the pictures/frames. All beautiful.

Oh, and a tissue box 🙂

DadANDPK · 15/01/2023 10:22

Nothing, I like them clear

A friend has given them to me over the years, and I split them when reporting, so they multiply.

I've probably had about 5 or 6 from her. Now have about 20 and gave several away last year.

Friend gets them from her mum, who also splits them. Probably all came from original ones her mum had years and years ago.

Nothing, I like them clear also I have cats who would just push it off anyway. Grin

Nothing as the ledge is too shallow and the dog would knock anything off when he sticks his long, pointy nose out of the window to bark at passing cats. If it was deeper and the dog wasn't such an arsehole I'd have some plants on there.

🤣

quine04 · 15/01/2023 10:34

Nothing - our large window is flush to the wall with no ledge. But when we have had one I would have then a small plant or candle or 2. Never photos, I hate seeing the ugly back of frames from outside. And those of you with all the clutter (Diet Coke cans! 🙈 ) I could not cope looking at that! From inside or knowing people outside could too.

CremeEggThief · 15/01/2023 10:37

Deliberate choice to have nothing on any sill, apart from the kitchen one where the radio and kitchen roll live. And that would be bare too, if I could figure out new homes for those!

bigbluebus · 15/01/2023 10:39

Nothing in our room. The curtains would knock anything off as there's a chest of drawers in the bay window and the curtains have to slide between it.

In DS's room there's just one of those moisture trap containers.

Nothing at the moment. We moved house last week and the previous owners left their blinds for us so there isn't any windowsill left when they are open (if that makes sense). They are those hang down ones that turn sideways to open - Venetian?

Previous house we had a photo of our sons and a rather dead succulent. Plus lots of dust BlushGrin

IntentionalError · 15/01/2023 10:48

Binoculars. My bedroom overlooks open fields & I like to do a bit of wildlife spotting.

Vertical blinds actually.

We will be changing them for something else soon..

Oh I'd love that!!

Orchids

TangledWebOfDeception · 15/01/2023 12:43

In our bedroom, nothing - the sill is very narrow (not even a sill, really).

In the guest bedroom, one plant.

I like bare sills; easier to keep clean and I like to leave uncluttered access to light.

Love your collection of plants @Chasingsquirrels!

WinterFoxes · 15/01/2023 12:44

The key to open the window and the cat.

I've never opened a cat. Is there extra floofiness inside? 🙀

@Chasingsquirrels love those pretty flowers 😍

Giggorata · 15/01/2023 13:58

A stained glass screen, instead of lace curtains. It's too narrow for anything else.

mistahclarke · 15/01/2023 14:02

Nothing. Don't like clutter.
