Recommendations for duvet cover plus curtains for taupe room, please stop me going beige!

Please help me if you can. Due to a monumental cock up I've just been nominated to host a family member arriving from overseas until Xmas 😬 (not over Xmas thank god). I have until Wednesday to turn my home office into a guest room!

It's tiny, pretty much 2.5m square but you can get a double bed plus bedside tables in with just about enough room to move. Bed is arriving tomorrow 🤞🤞

It's painted F&B elephants breath, kind of a taupe colour and is south facing. I need some passable quality coordinating curtains and bed linen but have little time to search and no time to physically shop so it's going to have to be online with next day delivery.

I'm useless at decor, temptation to just buy beige! Can anyone recommend something suitable?

Thank you

Marks and next are your friends here. Go for one of their looks . Since room is already neutral you have a choice.
tesco seem to do a good rip off of their stuff too.
personally I’m quite fond of duck egg and jade colours. Mind you .. depends what’s in stock in your case.

that is quite the cock up by the way😂

Could you get to a store for a quick click and collect? Next day deliveries are struggling at the moment, I work in customer services. Are you near a John Lewis? This would be perfect , out of stock for delivery but available in store

Elephants breath has violet undertones so a darker purple might be a good colour to work with - this kind of thing:

Maybe go with white bedding (including duvet cover), an aubergine coloured throw at the end of the bed and a patterned curtain or blind like the above fabric?

Or something like this? Next day delivery www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-elise-organic-cotton-bedding/p3320969

I agree, was also thinking aubergine but struggling to find much in bedding

This could work too

what do you have at the windows now?

What great ideas, thank you.

I've only got off white wood venetian blinds on the windows atm but it does have a curtain pole.

A bedside light would be nice too if you can throw that into your shopping list.

I was thinking something fuschia-y would be nice against taupe. I like PP's green suggestion.

Oh god…not purple…it is linked to creating depressed feelings ..just don’t

I’d personally go for white duvet and then add just a cheap ish throw and a cushion in a contrast colour and texture

I’d go for a pattern or textured curtains in same taupe or a shade lighter - use pattern or texture to break the beige overload - it doesn’t have to be just colour. Personally I found Dunelm has good curtains for good price. You can order on line ( good delivery) for multiple pairs and then a very easy returns for ones you don’t want- that way you can select from their entire range on line.

add some well placed ornaments, ideally some pictures, some flowers or house plants to match in with throw and cushion

it doesn’t take much, particularly in a small room to create an impression of colour without using much colour - just a few well placed items.

But that’s perfect- you don’t need curtains then…focus on accessories as I said in my previous message.
