Help me choose wall paint!!

Moved into our new house almost a week ago and been overwhelmed by everything.
Yesterday I placed my order for this beautiful Wilton carpet and then I went to dunelm and bought these luxurious velvet curtains.
I just need your advice on what colour should I paint on my walls.
Its already painted white and has grey carpets. However that's not my style. I prefer warm colours and prints. I don't like the crisp clean look. I'm more traditional and cosy.

@LibertyLily I have already got bohemian cushions which I had on my previous sofa and a lovely throw. Which I will reuse in the new house.
We had a fabric corner sofa in our old house we got from Harvey's almost 11 years ago. So I donated it to charity.
With a 10 month old, I thought leather sofa would be easier to clean than fabric.

@Chesterdrawsseriously oh wow £5,400 thats so unfair 😩 that sofa is just stunning. Not seen anything like it today and I went everywhere.
Thank you for the links. I'm going to take a good look. There was a sofa in DFS it was within budget called the Wren. If I did buy that, it would just be coz I need a sofa and I'm tired I'm looking.

Red Earth by Farrow and ball came to mind for me!

Naz2009 · 09/11/2022 19:38

@Baxdream love it.

I would get an EKTORP sofa from IKEA, they have washable covers and you can easily change them up as there are lots of companies who will make them up in different fabrics. It's a traditional style but a good one with kids. And cosier than leather. I would go for something like Farrow and Ball Peignoir on the walls with your carpet. I'm thinking a bit of a French feel.

Millenials love cottage core and nan chic so those of us who are middle age and love something more minimalist (I include myself in this) are the old fashioned ones.

OP, the carpet is awesome, so I'd use that as inspiration (the curtains don't go though). I'd have burgundy or navy walls, maybe a marble and gold coffee table (preferably vintage, remember, you should never be the oldest thing in your house). Sounds like you want a comfortable sofa that you can really relax in. Are you sure you want a corner sofa or would two sofas work in your space? Are you up for a bit of pattern clashing? Do you feel confident getting a patterned sofa (good for hiding stains) or curtains or wallpaper?. If you like nan style I'd look round the charity furniture shops or ebay or gumtree or vinterior (it's more expensive and got lots of mid century modern though). If you get an old sofa in a shape you like you can get it reupholstered in the fabric of your choice.

Also, don't feel like you have to get it right first time, if you buy vintage furniture you'll always be able to sell it again and update your look.

On Nan chic they really don’t.😂
