It's not cheap, if you've tried it was it worth it?

I triedthe Little Greene service in London and was glad I did. I had a big house to decorate and used a number of colours which needed to work together. I'm far from London so we did it with photographs sent in advance plus a meeting at the shop.

Thank you, I'll have a look at LG. How did you find the paint quality when applying? I've never used Little Greene or F&B.

The LG paint is very very good, especially the washable emulsion I have wiped many grease spots off in the kitchen. I also used Mylands hard wearing emulsion with marble dust in it. I'm one of those who think trade paint mixed to match is not the same thing at all as high end - not the same depth and subtlety of colour or soft look. F&B also good but beware in all posh brands of some formulas that can't be washed at all or easily touched up. If you decide not to get a consultation you could still order a book of real (painted) swatches and ask a lot of questions before deciding.

I did F&B recently for several rooms. Joa wasn’t available so it was someone local. Basically they come out with A4 sheets the colour of the paints and hold them up at the walls. The cards were old, tatty and dirty so it was really difficult to see the whites properly (she admitted that she needed new ones). The only brief I gave was no grey. One room is currently a paint & paper or little greene blue but I’ve lost the tin and don’t know what it was and wanted to replace it with a similar light chalky blue. She steamrollered all I said and went for a grey - I spite of me saying no grey. She also suggested black skirtings in that room despite low ceilings. It was a stone cold waste of money and actually I should really have said something to the shop but haven’t yet. (I’m also pretty sure that she was missing some of the colours - she had a tiny number of greens - none of the archive colours)

I had the F&B one - it was good. When I did it, they had a promotion on that you could claim the cost of the consultancy back against any paint you bought. So I did that. The young woman who did it was really good.

I also won a competition on here once and met and got Joa's advice on some of my walls

that said, I've switched to white Little Greene paint now.

Yes I did it online and was really pleased with the results - I have spent such a long time choosing paint colours only for them to be wrong! And spent loads on samples only to have to go back and get more! They do check you are happy with the suggestions, and send you a complete breakdown after, plus the colour fan.

I found a version of this book helpful too in understanding pigments and colour schemes

Little Greene is much better paint so I'd recommend going with them. The colours are gorgeous, it goes on beautifully and if you choose the intelligent paint it's wipeable

I'm going to go with Little Greene, I need to email one of their showrooms for an appointment but no idea who to choose. Those that have said Little Greene, may ask who you chose please?

I used them and they were great- also got 15% off my order so well worth it. She came up with a scheme I would never have thought of (around my preferences) which looks far better than anything I would have done.

Who did you have @Mogs43
