I’ve got my own reading room

We’ve moved DS from the small bedroom to the big one, so I now have my own reading room 😁

It’s the size of 2 double beds.

So far I have in it:
a cosy chair
a footstool
standing lamp
small table
bookcases

One wall has some drawers with bed linen in (unavoidable).

What else should I add to make to make the most of my lovely room?

Not the time of year for it , but for winter months, when it’s dark early an electric throw would be just the thing, and save you putting the heating on early.

I need to do something with the white cupboard ( electric cupboard so can't be moved)
Has anyone got any ideas, the skirting is dark brown but I think it will be to much 'brown ' if I paint it all .
The carpet will eventually be dark red

I have my own reading room too. I love it.

I have a lovely wicker hamper which has lots of soft blankets in if for when I want to wrap up.

You'll also need scented candles to add to the cozy.

And a nice reed diffuser to keep it smelling permanently lovely.

How are you doing for houseplants? You'll need an aloe vera to purify the air. Then you'll need a few beautiful plants, and maybe a couple of downright weird-looking ones.

How about an antique map? Or a beautiful piece of art on the wall?

Maybe a gilded mirror to make the space look/feel bigger and also to add opulence?

Is the aloe to purify the air from all the indoor pollution you've created with the reed diffusers and scented candies?!? Your poor solitary aloe has his work cut out! 😂
