Painting IKEA Billy bookshelves. Anyone done it?

I am looking to paint my Billy book shelves. I have Zinsser Bin primer available if needed. Has anyone painted them? If so what paint did you use and did it look good/last?
I have contemplated wallpaper on the back or cupboard fronts (I use only for books) but mine are a light brown colour not white.

I haven't painted a Billy bookcase, but I have painted Ikea furniture such as Kallax. I use Frenchic paint, which doesn't need priming, and a foam roller and the unit is still in a perfect condition 2 years on. Take a look on the Frenchic Fan Forum as there's loads of examples there.
