Was really hoping someone on here might have experience. Think I’ll take the risk as I like the sample so much.

If you're on Facebook, you may want to try some of the DIY groups

dancingqueen345 · 22/01/2022 18:06

I have just ordered worktops from them. They're coming to template next week and fit the week after so afraid I can't really help with how good they are yet.

Fingers crossed for me though 🤣

Starspangledrodeo · 22/01/2022 20:50

@dancingqueen345 I’ve ordered too now but won’t be fitted for a couple of months yet. Hope you’re happy with them, I’m can’t wait to get my new kitchen.

I had Gemini quartz worktops fitted just before Christmas. They were brilliant and I highly recommend them. Sales, plans and manufacture were dealt with by Gemini it seemed and then template and fit subcontracted to local people. All good.

The only drawback is that the phone number on their website is never answered, which is disconcerting when they’ve got your money and you need to ask them something.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 23/01/2022 17:18

I have Gemini quartz worktops installed by their previous parent company. 7 years on they still look brand new

DorothyBinns · 23/01/2022 17:19

Oh I’ve just seen that you’ve already ordered! So more pertinently, I’m very happy with the quality and installation.

londondee · 25/01/2022 16:03

Hi, thanks for this thread. I am looking to book with them as well, just checking what experience others have had. The sales person I have been dealing with has been brilliant so far, I just need to decide on a worktop I am happy with...

Starspangledrodeo · 27/06/2022 16:18

Thought I’d come back to this thread to say we had the Gemini worktops fitted and I love them. Really happy with the service, the quality and what they look like.

Just following up on this - we had an issues with our worktop recently, one of the joining pieces was raising against the other and it looked awful. I contacted Gemini and someone was out within 24hrs to fix it. Really impressed!

mattdzzla · 06/11/2023 17:32

Hi all, more than a year since OP gave Gemini praise ... they have some horrendous reviews (small %, majority are 5*) and I suspect it's a bit down to who they sub-contract out to in regions ...

Anyone use Gemini for a worktop in the South West? Near Bristol at all?

NellyBarney · 07/11/2023 12:56

We are in the South West and used them twice in the last year, for a utility and a kitchen. Both times very happy. Small hick up when holes for taps were too small bit they came out to fix that within a couple of days. I think they were sold recently, but it didn't seem to affect my orders.

mattdzzla · 08/11/2023 10:35

Gulp 😱 - we have gone ahead and ordered ... won't be for a few months yet as part of a renovation ... but ... will try to remember to update here. But, if we're past Jan 2024 and you want info, please ping here and I'll then come update.

londondee · 08/11/2023 14:10

Just to say that they did my kitchen last year and I was very pleased with their entire service. Good luck!

Sconehenge · 08/11/2023 14:16

I didn’t like our service, the fitted it wrong so it’s too small and they refused to remedy it.

londondee · 08/11/2023 14:57

Sorry to hear that! I know they say to check every single aspect of the plan as they cant be held responsible for any measurements that are not what the client wants. I dont know if this is what happened in your case, but in mine the tap holes and so on for the island were fitted very far back as my kitchen fitter placed them there. So for this I could not hold Gemini responsible as I should have picked up my kitchen fitter's error (but in my inexperience I did not notice it until too late!!)

mattdzzla · 08/11/2023 17:11

Yeah, conscious that we need to keep a close eye on the templater and double check all the measurements etc.

mattdzzla · 08/11/2023 17:11

Yeah, conscious that we need to keep a close eye on the templater and double check all the measurements etc.

They measure via a laser computer gadget. They glue little paper dots onto all corners and edges and then scan them. Soyou should be there when they come to measure to ensure they stick the dots in all the right place. Things like taps get measured by hand, that's usually where errors occur. Another problem that can arise is if walls are not straight (we live in an old property). In that case, upstands or splashback can protrude a bit unevenly, but there is little they can do. Upstands are useful to cover any gaps between the wall and the worktop, so always good to choose upstands/splashbacks, as even modern walls can be slightly wonky.

londondee · 08/11/2023 19:19

The guy who did the templating did a good job, and as you say it is all done by laser. You check all the details afterwards. But in my personal experience, my kitchen fitter had put things in the wrong place, so the measurements by template were 'correct' - just not actually right if you see what I mean :-)

Hhhh80 · 01/02/2024 09:41

Our templater is coming tomorrow. Hope it goes well. We've just replastered the kitchen walls so hopefully this will help the worktops go on straight. It's such a lot of money!

londondee · 01/02/2024 12:55

Good luck!

mattdzzla · 01/02/2024 12:58

Ours is coming tomorrow too ... (we're just by Bristol) ... will try to remember to post here how the experience was. You're right it's a lot of money but compared to other providers a big saving ... hope I've not made a bad decision and my faith in Gemini is paid off.

So, template happened two weeks ago when I had to pay in full. Worktops installed yesterday.

Through the process from order to conclusion yesterday I had been worried that the 5 star reviews were fake and the 1 star would be my reality.

But I can confirm that it was awesome. The tops look amazing. The install team were great, templater was great and the money saved was massive.

We had 2.7m with upstand in utility, another 2.3m sink run in kitchen, a 1m piece, and a 1.2m x 3.2m island with waterfall end.

All for £4.6k incl vat.

I had less of the same type (effectively) of quartz from a provider about 6 years back at our old house and it cost about 6k. It would have been £10k plus with local big showroom provider.

I rate my Gemini experience 5-star and would recommend them.

I'll try to remember to revise this in a few months after living with the tops. Can't imagine any issue other than a breakage. Hope that doesn't come to pass!
