I really like this colour for our new bedroom, but I'm useless at style! We're redecorating the whole room and it has a wooden floor. What would you paint the walls? Something light because the room isnt huge..any ideas?

Just go for a plain colour on the wall (a warm white) but pick up the colour of the wardrobe in the curtains and throw cushions for your bed. Choose two other complimentary colours, which you can use in the bedding and/or rug you choose.

What aspect does the room have?

Avarua · 14/01/2022 09:41

PS that shade of blue is often paired with grey and white and coir/jute.

RestingPandaFace · 14/01/2022 09:46

I’d go for FandB Ammonite, or Peignoir if you want something warmer.

Walesrecommendations · 14/01/2022 10:02

Great suggestions thank you! Think it has an easterly aspect.

@RestingPandaFace

I’d go for FandB Ammonite, or Peignoir if you want something warmer.
I was going to suggest F and B Dead Salmon, but Peignoir would be lovely.

Yy peignoir looks very nice

That colour furniture always looks dusty. Even when you have literally just dusted it. It shows every speck.

Walesrecommendations · 14/01/2022 10:16

Argh! We currently have white bedroom furniture which is all scuffed and marked now, thought a darker colour would be better.

I'd be interested if anyone has used this company and the stuff was ok as I've been looking at it online but Cornwall is a bit far for a showroom visit!

Walesrecommendations · 14/01/2022 10:24

I have, I got one of their blanket boxes a couple of years ago and it's really nice. Would def use them again.

Not totally on point but when we moved into our house the kitchen diner has a black laminate floor. I thought that meant it wouldn’t look too dirty but it really does show up dust. So I think anything really pale or really dark may be a problem on that front so if that’s a concern you maybe want something in between!

purplepaintedpineapple · 14/01/2022 20:21

Thanks @Walesrecommendations I'll have a proper look at it now!

NewYearCalavicci · 14/01/2022 20:27

I think for the walks I would go for v v pale green , something like Apple white and the wood work one or two shades greener than apple white and as PP said pick up the colour with lampshades, bedding , etc

Lifeisnteasy · 14/01/2022 20:30

Walls I would go a warm white or a very very pale fawn colour.

NewYearCalavicci · 14/01/2022 20:30

Walks = walls obvs Confused

Look at F&Bs Dimpse. It’s a beautiful light colour. I think those blue cupboards would go nicely with it.

Bluesheep8 · 16/01/2022 08:53

Be careful with Peignoir - it can look very lilac in certain light which personally I wouldn't like with blue.
I'd suggest a neutral with the merest hint of pink, one of the F and B red based neutrals like Dimity perhaps.
