The Brassica colour as seen on the hen house or French Gray? I’m a bit concerned that the brassica in the photo looks different to the f&b colour chart I have....and different again to a wood sample board painted with it.

Or something else? Either needs to be a sadolin superdec colour or f&b.

Love the french grey. Very classic.

I've just chosen between Wickes Sea Breeze (blue) and Garden Willow (sage green) which look similar to those for my patio balustrade. I've gone with the blue for a number of reasons, mainly

  • I LOVE sage green, but my hall has been that colour for years and I've recently had a new sage green shaker kitchen and think maybe another sage thing is too much (I was already considering changing the hall as I wonder if the same colour in the hall and kitchen is too much).
  • the sage green is just another green in the garden (the fences are all cheap forest green, as is the balustrade currently) alongside all the plants etc, I thought the blue would be a bit different and stand out a bit more.

Re-read that is a grey, looked bluey on the picture to me.

French Grey.

I like the Brassica too, but it might be a bit much over such a large area.

The green.

I'm tired of grey, and never liked it much in gardens anyway.

I really like this purple grey but have no idea what shade/paint it is.

I've had that sage green colour on my shed for at least a decade. I am tempted to go "off black" again. We have sandstone walls.

Walk around your area and decide whether you want to start or follow the trend

Could the last grey be f&b downpipe?

Out of the two original pics, I prefer the hen house, but it looks more blue to me than grey!

Beetie1 · 23/05/2021 19:36

That looks like the colour of my shed which I did in Ronseal fence paint in Deep Plum.

Hmmm, to me Downpipe looks blacker/darker rather than having a purple hint.

I think I have exactly the shed in that colour in the right hand picture. Is it from the posh shed co?

So checked mine again. It definitely is the posh shed co. Their website has lots of real pictures which may help you choose. I went for posh elephant a creamy grey rather than a colour and it looks amazing all year round. I worry a stronger colour would not work as week in all seasons and weathers.

CovidCorvid · 25/05/2021 07:09

Thanks, I’ve looked at their website now. Posh elephant looks nice. Thought I’d decided on the French Gray and then found images of some front doors painted in Brassica and am swinging back to that again.
