Hi,
We are selling our house so decided to pay someone to clean the carpets. He had good reviews and was efficient and professional while booking. He can, did the work then at the end said he's only been doing the job for a few months.
The job was done on Sunday. The living room carpet is still damp to the touch in a few places. We've been airing the room, heating on and fans on it since we realised Monday night after work. There is a slight fusty smell in the room now. I'm absolutely gutted Sad
Has anyone got any advice on how to dry them or are they ruined? Thank you.

Have you contacted him? Did he say how long they would take to dry when he came?
Maybe contact him and request he hires some dehumidifiers to help quickly dry them.

I'm married to a professional carpet cleaner, carpets are touch dry when he's finished them and completely dry within 12-24 hours

If they are still wet after 4 days they are going to start to smell and go musty, I suspect his equipment is not a commercial carpet cleaner so not powerful enough to remove the water from the carpet after cleaning

I would contact him

You definitely need to contact him, no way should they be wet after 4 days!

You need to call asap. The carpets are going to be ruined and the smell will be horrific.
