Does anyone know where I can get something to replace this hideous wood sink and toilet cover!

Hiya, am hoping one of you fab people will be able to help, as I am trying to do up our bathrooms, as they are very old and horrible, but on a budget (as we hope to be able to save up and do them properly in a couple of years). I am desperate to find something rather than this horrid wood cover that goes over our sínk and toilet (see pic) but can't find anywhere that would do a cheap and cheerful alternative (just expensive marble places). Does anyone have any idea where we could get something?

Thanks in advance :)

You could take off the wooden ledge dividing the sink and toilet, then sand and paint the rest of the wood areas

Thanks, I had thought about that (as had stained the other more water stained one) but the wood itself around the sink has started to warp and crack, so was hoping for something non wooden as my kids flood the top all the time.

I'd probably tile over it

The bit around the basin I mean. And paint the rest

Oh thanks, I hadn't ever thought to tile it, that might work as would be more waterproof and make it look not so rubbish. I wish I could just get it all ripped out, but just can't do that for a while yet

It's such a small area, you could ask stone/granite/marble merchants if they have any off cus if that's the route you wanted to go down?

Thanks that is also a great idea, I didn't realise I could ask about off cuts. 🙂
