I don’t have a pic but I ended up painting over Chic Shadow in our bathroom. It was a very depressing battleship grey. Goosedown is much lighter.

weddingdisaster4 · 28/06/2020 15:41

I have chic shadow in my kitchen. It's really bright and airy and I don't find it depressing at all. I think it depends on how much natural light you have

PuntoEBasta · 28/06/2020 15:44

South-east facing with several windows, so natural light not a problem. Perhaps the bathroom formulation comes out differently.

Veterinari · 28/06/2020 15:52

Chic shadow is lovely

CambsAlways · 28/06/2020 16:23

Our bedroom is south facing so not bad lighting

Greys are quite hard to get right I think as some take on a blue tone others a green grey

Goosedown can be very blue so I would try a tester first. I have chic shadow in my bathroom and I would say it's too dark for a whole bedroom room unless you want it quite dark. Have a look at Wilko Cosy Grey

SauvignonBlanketyBlank · 28/06/2020 21:59

Rock salt is a true grey.No blue

iswhois · 28/06/2020 22:33

Goose down is actually very blue. I have it in my front room. I wouldn't choose it again.

Thanks everyone

Goose down has very blue tones, it is actually quite dark once in the walls, so maybe get a tester as it might be a shock how much darker it dries... Chic shadow has a bluey undertone, but less obvious, and a much lighter shade. Some greys verge on brown/warm, and others blue/cool, both are cool toned greys. We had chic shadow in our bedroom before we moved and I really liked it. Although much lighter than Goose down, it's darker than I'd go now, but that's because we do like very pale colours in our current house as although a bigger house, it feels darker. We have dulux Polished pebble in alot of rooms now, and it's a lighter, airy grey, again, with blue tones, which I much prefer. We also have white mist in the bedrooms which is a verrrry pale, chalky grey, I love it.

Nanalisa60 · 28/06/2020 23:27

I really like the deluxe polished pebble it a love soft pale gray, looks great with white woodwork.

CambsAlways · 28/06/2020 23:37

I e just got rock salt tester hoping that will be quite a light grey, yes we def don’t want darkish grey

If the attachment works this is chic shadow bathroom formulation on my kitchen because I couldn't get the kitchen one lol. Natural light and it's really dull today. I also have polished peddle through out most of the rest of my house which is really nice but more of a white with a very faint hint of grey.

I have chic shadow in my hall, and when I first got it done a few people commented on what a nice lilac colour it was 🤔. I think it really depends on the light with that colour.

CambsAlways · 29/06/2020 10:23

Yes I def think it depends on the lighting

I’ve got goose down in my living it’s definitely a very blue grey (which is what I wanted).
DD has grey lace (crown period paint) in her bedroom, that’s more of a grey grey.

AwkwardPaws27 · 29/06/2020 10:50

Our bedroom is chic shadow

Goose down has a very blue under tone so can appear cooler/colder but if it's south facing room you have you shouldn't have a problem, I actually prefer it out if the two but just be aware it's a blue grey whereas chic shadow is more a true grey, but warmer I'd say xx

Redroses05 · 29/06/2020 10:53

I have chic shadow in my bedroom. I think you need good lighting unless you don’t mind your room looking slightly darker. I also have chic shadow in my bathroom. Goose down is lovely I have it in both my hallways it’s a lot lighter in colour.

sarahc336 · 29/06/2020 10:53

Polished pebble by dulux is the lighter version of chic shadow so for a while room this may be better? X

CambsAlways · 29/06/2020 11:12

I’m so grateful for everyone’s input, lovely to know other people’s opinions

I have rock salt in one of my rooms but it looks white

Lougle · 29/06/2020 11:18

This is just painted last week. The lighter grey is Midnight Iris 5 and the darker colour is chic shadow. But light really changes it. The second picture shows chic shadow in a different room... Much darker looking.
