What colour to paint the bedroom furniture?

I've recently decorated the bedroom and painted the room. It's a light grey (pale blue in some light) the bedding is and light fixture is navy.

I wanted new furniture but budget wont allow, so I'm opting for painting it, probably with chalk paint.

Any suggestions of what colour to paint the bedroom drawers and wardrobe.

I'd like something to stand out against the wall, so maybe a darker grey or blue, but I'm worried it may make the bedroom too dark.

I will be replacing the carpet as well at some point (currently beige) suggestions for colour also gratefully received Smile

Frenchic do a fantastic colour called Hornblower. It's a very dark blue.

I also love their steal teal which could work for you?

I think navy and mustard yellow go amazing together, I find they make a space look super cosy, otherwise a really pale pink? These are options if you are looking to make it brighter! I love charcoal grey too and think it would go lovely with navy!

is the furniture currently wood? There's a lovely trend of painting bits of the wood and leaving some exposed at the moment which looks really high end (if done carefully). For example you would paint the frame and leave the drawers and top.

Im about to do my hall cabinet with black outline (its an old oak cabinet and the room is very pale (almost white) grey.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

I've had a look at Hornblower and it's a beautiful shade of blue. I'd go for that, but I'm unsure if painting the drawers, wardrobe and bedside cabinet would make the room too dark?

I've got mustard in the front room😁

I like the idea of leaving parts of it wood as well

Ooh I’m piggybacking here but I want to paint my pine. What do I google to see pics with bits of the wood left?

I'd probably go with a chalky white or off white - a scandi look. I Iove dark blue but not if it makes the room too dark.

Recommend Frenchic paint too. I've done my son's furniture in hornblower and it's a great colour. Currently using Smudge - a fab dark, anthracite grey. Have a look on the Frenchic fan forum Facebook page for ideas.
