Am decorating my bedroom and it's currently white. I want to add some colour and am looking for light coloured paint. I keep veering towards beige! and I don't want beige. It is named all sorts of different things like Hessian but it looks beige to me.

Paintwork is bright white as is ceiling. I don't want grey or anything yellowish/mauve.

Am looking for brown tones, natural, neutral, linen, sisal...

Any ideas?

Denim drift is a lovely grey blue but it’s quite dark. Like denim Grin
Had a colour called malt chocolate in my hall. It was a lovely taupe colour once on.

@WaxOnFeckOff That does look nice.

@Gustavo1 I did look at Denim Drift and really like it but yes, it's just too dark. I don't want to wake up on dark winter mornings in a dark room. Malt Chocolate sounds delicious! Grin

Monaco is a bit lighter and bluer maybe?

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/03/2020 23:30

Have you downloaded the Valspar app OP? You can take a photo of your room and add in whatever colour you want from their charts to see what it looks like. Think Dulux have a similar app.

12345kbm · 15/03/2020 23:30

That's certainly lighter and another possibility. Thank you.

@WaxOnFeckOff I'll take a look, thanks. It's a big room with very high ceilings, so I think it will take most colours.

Maybe try some really random colours as you might just see something that totally inspires you that you'd never have thought about. Plum, lipstick pink, bottle green, mustard yellow, teal etc. Smile

I will do, I'll be creative. Thanks

Take a look at Dulux Jurassic stone. It’s a lovely muted greeny toned colour. I have the fireplace and hearth in it here.

@ElectricMartha that's actually really nice! It would certainly work as well. Is going on the list! Thank you.

12345kbm. It’s really easy to
live with and goes with a lot. Rest of room is painted off white and other colours of accessories are white, cream, greys and blacks with touches of colour in Pictures, plants and ornaments .

Dulux Mellow Mocha

12345kbm · 16/03/2020 00:13

@ElectricMartha It's really lovely and quite neutral, very fresh.

Dulux - just walnut?

12345kbm · 16/03/2020 19:41

@Unknown2020 Thank you. That may do for the sitting room. I think I'm now going for blue for the bedroom.

I've decided to go for Tranquil Dawn. I think it's perfect. Will be ordering Friday.

Glad you’ve got it sorted. Now is a good time to get to work on DIY.

12345kbm · 18/03/2020 23:28

@ElectricMartha thanks! It's a relief and yes, it's completely the right time. I wanted you to know that I'm thinking about painting my sitting room in Jurassic Stone or something similar. Am looking to maybe order paints for both rooms as the same time. Thanks for the idea.

But isn't it...green?!

12345kbm · 18/03/2020 23:42

@MairzyDoats Yes it is! I began with one idea (brown) and kind of navigated towards blue then found this and thought it was lovely. It changes colour in the light, so it's a kind of greeny, grey, blue colour which is perfect. I'm looking to accent with whites, grey green and blue. Light wood floors, light wood furniture.

I've kind of decided to go for a 'themed' look which is different colours of green as my kitchen is olive. Sounds bizarre I know.

Phew - thought my eyes were going there Grin It sounds lovely. We need pics when it's done!

12345kbm · 19/03/2020 14:43

I will post pics. Thank you everyone for your help.
