Wrong size quartz worktop - help!

Hi guys
My new worktop has been installed and the breakfast bar is shorter than I would have liked - i gave a worktop plan which was used to give me a quote and i have paid - the length of the breakfast bar is slightly lower than what I have specified and now j dont know if this can be fixed :-(

I called the company to ask if they can add a piece at the wall end and move the singke piece down but they said as it has crosses in the side it wont hold with glue or something- i dont mind paying for the extra piece but seems like it is not something they can fix. I was there when templating took place and i did say i wanted breakfast bar so they said ok we will include this but i should have mentioned I wanted legnth longer as well - my fault.

Has anyone had this situation before?

Please excuse typos - sent from phone with annoying spelling correction and not sure how to edit a post once submitted

I don't understand. You say it's lower than you specified? But the length is also wrong but that's because you didn't specify?

Could the breakfast bar be made of something else? A bit like these photos (which I hope show up)?

Sorry for the confusion - yes so i had my own worktop plan provided to me by my worktop company which i gave for the quotation - but they came out and took their own measurements so based the installation on that as expected- i guess i was assuming they would tell me that my measurements for the legnth and theirs had a difference but they never confirmed the sizes even when i called to check the breakfast bar was being made bigger. I should have specified i wanted it longer in length as well as width - they only extended the width unfortunately.

They gave you a plan and the price was based on that plan. The guys who templated have obviously made a mistake and not stuck to the plan. Imo you’re perfectly within your rights to ask them to take away the incorrectly sized worktop and replace it with the correct one as per the original plan.

They said they cant now because cabinets are glued to worktop so both may be damaged when removing the worktop :-(

Tough. Not your problem. Guess they’ll have to replace the cabinets too. If they made a mistake they need to fix it.
