How to disguise an ugly carpet! (Picture)

Evening

I am looking at renting an office, but the flooring is stained and ugly. The landlord isn't prepared to share the cost of re-fitting.

Other than a huge rug (would this work?) anyone have any ideas of any temporary ways to disguise an ugly carpet?

The room is big, about 4.5mx 4.5m

My budget is around £100!

In case you did go down the laminate floor route, Costco do fantastic, affordable laminate flooring.

I follow The frugality on insta, her rented office had stained carpet she pulled it up and painted the concrete floor grey.

I think with a good clean and better, brighter, lighting it will look a lot better than it currently does. I agree with PP about strategically placing your furniture and equipment if some of the stains don't come out.

If you're providing beauty services, is there are chance that products will drop on to the floor? If so, you may want to consider some protective coverings. The landlord may not be keen to change the carpet now, but he won't fail to charge you for any irreparable damage when you move out!

If you're just starting out, maybe live with it for a while, put some money aside and then get it re-carpeted later.
