Has anyone used Britannia Rose for curtains/roman blinds? I need some made for our living/dining/sunroom and they seem to be one of the only firms that do the fabric I want!

Thanks

I just ordered a Roman blind from them as they had 40% off made to measures, tho that deal ended on Tuesday (they might rerun it tho). Not received it so can’t comment on quality but the reviews are good and ordering was easy.

I’ve purchased curtains from them recently, also because they were the only place to offer the fabric that I wanted. I was a bit nervous because I had never heard of them but the curtains are well made and their customer service was very quick to respond and helpful.

Thanks, that's good to know!

Hi Threesocks, did you use Brittannia Rose in the end?

Threesocks · 10/02/2019 16:05

No I went to local curtain firm who can get any fabric. They came and measured to make sure it was all correct and did it for a similar price to Britannia Rose.

I realise that no one has posted on this thread for over a year, but in case anyone is doing a search for reviews...

I ordered curtains & blinds a month ago. Despite there being 'no delays' stated on their website and a brilliant 'tracker' nothing is happening with my order. Very conveniently they are not taking phone calls. So the only way to contact them is by email and online 'chat'. Well, the response from the 'chat' is the same both times I've tried (we are starting your order and will ship in the middle of next week) and there has been NO response to my emails...

I am a REAL customer... I will post once I see some progress or receive my order!

Waitingfirgodot · 06/07/2020 14:52

@Mumisthebestjobintheworld don't panic too much. I've had some from them. They took longer than stated, but did arrived and are great quality.

EmmaStone · 06/07/2020 17:32

Same - the delivery dates stated and the tracker were off the mark - I think it was approx an extra 1-3 weeks, but the quality when arrived was very good and I'd be happy to use them again.

wowsaidtheowl · 06/07/2020 19:47

I’ve got the same issue. I replied to the confirmation email I was sent and got a reply the next day. They’ve promised they’ll be here by the end of the week which is 4 weeks after ordering. I think they’ve got a bit overwhelmed with all the lockdown orders!

Mumisthebestjobintheworld · 07/07/2020 12:02

Thanks for all your replies and reassurances.

Mumisthebestjobintheworld · 07/07/2020 12:04

I do think they need to take the 'no delays' off their COVID-19 section on their website - it's not expensive or difficult to do and is misleading (deliberately..?)

Hi all, just seeing this now - how I wish I'd seen before purchasing my new curtains with them back in late June.

I still haven't received it and they don't even reply to my emails any more. It's 3 months later and no product, no answer and no money back. Would you have had an issue like this before? Would you know how to contact any trading standards and how to go about it?

Many thanks!

Bowerbird5 · 28/09/2020 19:51

I just rang local Trading Standards when I had a problem with Comet/ Curry’s. They were very helpful. You should be able to find them via internet otherwise ask the local council.

Gladysthesphinx · 28/09/2020 20:52

Hum! I’ve had curtains from them for two rooms.

The first lot were great. Really pleased.

The second took ages. I had to keep on and on chasing (this was well before lockdown so no excuses there). When they finally turned up - well overdue- they had been hemmed by stitching over the hems, not under. I think there is a technical term for this but I’ve forgotten it. Basically, the stitching should have been invisible (as it was on the first lot & is on every other curtain I’ve got). But instead it was really obvious & resulted in cheap looking bulky messy hems. I was very disappointed. It looks old fashioned & cheap.

I emailed customer services who agreed it was wrong. They said they would revise the work. Trouble was that by then I’d thrown away the old curtains and it was for my teenage sons bedroom! He just refused to go curtainless (obviously it would have taken at least 2 weeks) so I have kept them. They look very unsatisfactory.

I’m not sure what their business model is but think they probably just outsource the work so you are totally dependent on the skills of the person you happen to get. I wouldn’t use them again - I regret not going to my local curtain shop & will definitely do so next time.

Also still waiting for Britannia Rose curtains ordered 7 weeks ago; when I queried no arrival I was given another delivery date (16 Sept) , still no curtains; next enquiry response was "will make this a priority order, curtains will be despatched 28 Sept.

Except they haven't : no promised dispatch email and the online "track your order " isn't working. any more.

So that#ll be another failed delivery date.

Since I made the order there was a flood of angry customer complaints on their feedback page; all those comments have now been delleted . So now every remaining "feedback" from customers, is glowing satisfaction. This deliberate distortion of customers' feedback probably amounts to mis-selling?

And of course, the phones system is still "unavailable" and online chat with their customer servicesis very flaky.

Hopeless service, I'll never order from Britannia Rose again.
Gladysthesphinx · 28/09/2020 21:04

That’s awful! I would definitely try Trading Standards in your area (I think there will be a local one for every area). I do hope you get the curtains or your money back.

You could also look into a small claims court claim. I think the first step for this would be to write a formal letter recorded delivery threatening legal action unless you get the curtains by a specified date. (This might spur them into action.) But the small claims court website would have information about this. Awful.
