Any pros and cons from anyone who has a wooden floor instead of carpet?

I liked my wooden floor but sometimes wish I had carpet as it would be softer for my baby. It’s so easy to clean though ! And you can customise with a lovely rug

I have wood all the way through. Much much easier to keep clean than carpet. Hallway has a rug which we can wash. Wood floor is so much more hygienic especially if you have pets / children or in high traffic areas.

Does a wooden floor make the rooms feel cold?

I wish we had done wood in the hallway, much easier to clean.

We laminated all of downstairs, three kids under five...

There have been countless times I have been extremely thankful for this decision!

We roll a rug out in the living room when the kids go to bed

We had wooden floors but soon changed it. Wooden floors are colder, pain to keep dust free, not good with kids and to me just didn’t make the house seem inviting and homely

Living room carpet - or an enormous rug over wood floor.

Hallway wood or tiles, much easier to clean for a surface which will be walked on with outdoor shoes a lot!

greendale that's my worry but dirty carpet isn't very welcoming either.

Kids are teens so not a major factor in the decision. Living room is just inside the front door so we seem to have a lot of grime travelling in.

I have wood floor in my tiny hallway. Used to be beige carpet but oh my goodness, it was a challenge keeping it clean at this time of year, with leaves, berries and mud from people's shoes. Wood floor is much easier. It's a tiny space and I can wipe it over with kitchen paper and some cleaning spray in about 30 seconds.
