This is going to be my main kitchen sink, in a white worktop. (Will it look weird btw? Dh says it will look weird I think it will look great)

Anyway! I need a smaller sink to go with this as it's in my utility area but it's open plan to the kitchen so don't want anything totally different. The utlitity worktop is a natural oak.

I want the sink to be smaller (but not tiny), square and with a smaller drain ... anyone have any idea whatsoever ? 😁

Does the same company not do anything to match? You could ring and check up?

Unfortunately not Sad

I wouldn't have a white sink in a white worktop (they won't match perfectly and two different whites next to each other will look odd and one may make to other look dirty) - the only way I think white worktop and white sink together, work is if it's one of those composite ones where the worktop itself has the sink formed as part of it.

I think if the utility already has different coloured worktops and units then the sink doesn't need to match.

How about a black one?

nutellaontoastgirl · 14/09/2018 20:28

The utility has the same units (slate grey) as the kitchen as it's all open plan.
Just that part of the worktop is oak.

Didn't think of the whites being different and hence one looking dirty ! Shock it is a brilliant white and the worktop is also a brilliant white so I'm hoping it should be ok?

Really don't want a black sink. It's quite a traditional looking kitchen.

The problem is brilliant white in one material, will be different to brilliant white in another material (texture and shine of each material will also affect this).

Plus the same goes for brands even in brilliant white there are differences in the colour between brands that you wouldn't notice until you put them next to each other. Even different batches of the same product can come out slightly different colour white (that's why worktop that will touch another piece of worktop should always be purchased from the same batch).

Is there anyway you can get a sample of the worktop to put next to sink?

Even if the cupboards themselves are the same in utility and kitchen and the areas are linked, I think because of the different worktops, the sink really doesn't need to match.
