A really big pinboard for teenager's photos + posters + drawings + cards

Putting this in DIY too...

DD 14 likes to blu tak photos and cards all over her walls, which is trashing the paintwork.

I would like to make one whole wall (3m x 2m) a pinboard so that she could rearrange her displays easily with drawing pins. But how do you do this? Can you get white cork tiles (she doesn't want the wall to be that gingerish colour of normal cork)? Or cover the board with material somehow?

Any advice very welcome.

I would think you could paint the cork tiles easily. If not with normal paint there will be some variant of specialist paint that would work im sure.

Get some lovely pins to match with the colour scheme and it would look great.

You could also hang copper wire across it and attach matching copper bulldog clips for hanging things she doesn't want pin holes in.

I am sure you could paint the cork with normal emulsion paint. Would certainly be worth buying one pack of tiles and testing it out. But I do wonder if being white, it would get to look tatty and pin-marked pretty quickly.

Why not look at a wire board for the wall? Bit more stylish than cork board? Could get a few and put them next to each other?

I thought about that magnetic paint, but how strong is it?

If you just search "wire board for walls" you'll see the kind of thing I mean. Amazon do them!

Try your local builders merchant - they have sundealer board (not sure on price though) and it can be painted

Chicken wire and pretty pegs or fishing wire across large photo frames (like pic)

Expanding trellis - painted. Can be pinned or pegged to

Fairy lights looped back and forth across the wall with pictures pegged to them would look pretty cool!

Have you got an ikea near you? Their Skadis range is white basic boards with a selection of clips, wires, and other different attachments. Maybe worth a look?
