Bright White Paint Advice

I want to brighten a dingy bedroom. Can anyone recommend a white paint and say whether or not I should go for a matt emulsion or another finish for maximum "radiance".

Go for Great White or similar from Farrow and Ball. Their colours are beautiful. Also, do NOT go for matte! It may look more elegant in an understated way, but my goodness does it scratch easily, and is a nightmare to touch up. If you do go for F&B, go for modern emulsion - it's not shiny but is suitable for kitchen and bathrooms and is quite easy to wipe clean.
