Does this look scruffy?

We have just got some new sofas and the only way we have worked out we could store our dvds was to get rid of the cupboard they were in and buy a more narrow bookcase. Do you think it looks scruffy with them all on display? :-(

Burn the dvds onto your laptop (get a chromecast too). Much tidier. Does anyone even own a dvd player anymore? Sooo 90's. Wink

No, not really 🤦🏽‍♀️ And we have sky movies and Netflix! Most of them were bought when we still lived with our parents. I just feel reluctant/unsure what to do with them and OH bought me the case especially for DVDs so will go mad if I get rid of them all lol!

OP I would get rid of that unit all together. Maybe a side unit if you'd like to have that area for displaying things like your photos. But you could easily store the rest (or get rid!)

Nb am only saying that as you are questioning whether looks 'scruffy'. Which it doesn't! But if it's on your mind, you could easily be free if it.

Less clutter is never a bad thing!

There's almost nothing there to be scruffy! You'd all faint at DH's bookcases. Agree about the wire though.

I had this issue. Ditched the dvds- that was 6 years ago. Haven't missed them yet!

Can I just say I have enjoyed this thread immensely OP. I would put the dvds out of sight, in a box. Stick some more books on your shelves. You have made big improvements though and who knew looking at someone's bookshelf 'journey' could be so relaxing? Grin

Haha, I'm glad to have been of some entertainment! 🤦🏽‍♀️ I have invested in a magazine rack freeing up the bottom hidden shelf.. so I may put the DVDs there. I will update of any changes lol! Thanks everyone xx

Looks loads better!! My DH not only puts coins and his other crap but also egg boxes with seedlings amongst my perfectly arranged bookshelves! Should I LTB?

I love threads like these too..

It looks so much better. Another suggestion I have is to use wicker baskets
to store the DVDs on the shelves to hide them a bit more.
