Thinking of painting my upvc front door. Has anyone tried this successfully?

My front door is a horrible yellowed white colour upvc which won't clean up, but works fine. We can't afford to replace it at the moment so I've been considering painting it using a upvc primer then exterior eggshell paint. Bit worried I might make it even worse though and wondered if anyone has any advice?

No advice but interested in responses as I'm hoping to do some pvc windows.

I have done my doors and windows. Order some bullseye 123 primer from eBay it's not very expensive make sure you wash them well first and use a solvent cleaner before you start. I did mine 18 months ago and they look absolutely fab!!

Thanks Tibby, I will give it a go.

Not door, but all my UPVC Windows. Used Autentico paint and primer, still fine after 2 years.

I painted my UPVC door with this. I only did the inside of the door as we aren't allowed to change the colour on the outside but it went on really well and stuck without any kind of primer

Late reply but I have seen some amazing transformations using Frenchic alfresco range on Facebook of people making a huge difference to their front doors. Thinking of using it on French doors.
