.. to go with these sofas.
Why oh why did I go mad, and against my normal neutral choices! I'm really struggling to find a colour for the walls.
The room is fairly large ( think barn conversion ) with a wall of floor to ceiling south facing windows. So it can take a fairly strong colour I think.
The floor is dark oak.

Any suggestions very gratefully received !

Do you like your garden/ gardening? What normally goes on the gravel?

Semaphorically · 09/04/2017 19:47

I love the sofa! I think a tonal look, like this pic.

F&B mizzle. It's a lovely green.

Tatlerer · 09/04/2017 20:09

averagewhitevan can I ask you a different question if you don't mind- what shade of grey/white is that on the wall in your first pic? I really like it!

Yeabridge green f&b

user1471558436 · 09/04/2017 20:22

green

Bluntness100 · 09/04/2017 20:25

I'd use teal, pick out the colour on the sofa...

Mothervulva · 09/04/2017 21:24

I have a teal living room and am thinking of a sofa this colour.

Bluntness100 · 09/04/2017 21:35

And get some big plump cushions to go on it, make it look plush and comfy, match the back wall to the cushions otherwise it's too many colours.

So for example if you went with a teal back wall you could add big teal cushions.

Cremolafoam · 10/04/2017 11:25

this kind of look?

oneaveragewhitevan · 11/04/2017 15:35

Many thanks to everyone who replied. Sorry for a delay - have had a couple of internet issues hence slight name change.
I've taken ideas on board and today bought a number of tester pots.

Tattered - the colour is a Dulux professionally mixed colour. If you give me a couple of days to dig out the tin, I'll PM you with the colour coding.

Thanks again for all the advice, gratefully received !

Tatlerer · 12/04/2017 19:30

Thanks oneaverage that's really kind Grin

oneaveragewhitevan · 12/04/2017 21:34

Oh dear apologies Tatlerer - Tattered was blooming autocorrect!

slinkysaluki · 13/04/2017 09:36

Teal would be lovely

oneaveragewhitevan · 14/04/2017 18:24

Thank you Slinky- I'm leaning towards Inchyra Blue at present. The teal votes are definitely winning! Thank you for all the really helpful suggestions everyone.

wildbhoysmama · 17/04/2017 20:33

Another here for teal. I'm never a lover of purple walls- always looks strangely studenty/ 70s- but a purple velvet cushion or two would be lush. Also throwing Cooking Apple Green into the mix- it works differently am/ pm south/ north facing but is always homely and fresh.

Bluntness100 · 17/04/2017 20:37

Inchyra blue is lovely and would work well...

worriedmumtoteen · 17/04/2017 20:37

I'd get rid of the yellow cushions! Decide which colour you like best in the sofa - green, teal, purple - then do the walls that colour. I'd do one feature wall in a dark purple, say, then the rest in a paler purple. Gorgeous! Be bold. You have plenty of space and ceiling height.

oleoleoleole · 17/04/2017 20:41

Dark purple of peacock blue

AmethystRaven · 17/04/2017 20:42

Ooh it's lovely! I love a bit of colour. I vote teal.

wildbhoysmama · 17/04/2017 20:44

Oooooh peacock blue sounds gorg. Go with it on skirtings too- go for it!
