Roman blinds - inside or outside recess&?

Rectangular shaped living room/diner with two smallish windows on long walk. Bedrooms the same. Thinking Roman blinds rather than curtains but not sure if they would look better in or outside the recess.

Any opinions?

No the windows tilt inside, hence the problem. Good to know that the fixings are tiny, that helps!

Ahh, I understand now, sorry! I've tried to measure, and the track it comes on is between 4 and 5 cm I think.
