A grey that has more of a hint of stone to it

Basically that's what I am after. The woodwork doesn't actually need doing but it is painted in a pale cream. I'd like to go with a grey which personally I'd do with white woodwork but we are tarting a flat up to sell and would rather just paint the walls.

It is a period conversion so the woodwork includes picture rails, skirting, doors etc so is quite noticeable.

I therefore think a "greige" is what I need rather than a cooler grey which I assume wouldn't go with cream.

Any suggestions and any pictures. My decorator prefers to use Dulux but they'll colour mix other brands for him.

I'd go F&B Dropcloth

Or Elephants breath actually, elephants is more the grey end and dropcloth is more the stone end but both have a bit of the other in between...if that makes sense Hmm

Thanks everyone

Going to get some testers.

Misty Mountain front runner at the moment as I want it to pack a bit of a punch and Elephant's Breath may be a bit pale

F&B skimming stone

Paint & Paper Library has loads that would match this description. They do every colour in 5 "depths" so you can easily go lighter or deeper. Try the Slate range.

I have Elephant's Breath in my sitting room and its definitely not a grey - more of a mushroom / beige colour.

I have Egyptian Cotton on the walls for the hall stairs and landing and I think thats a pale beige too - no hint of grey.

Sorry, I realise thats no help at all!

Dixiechickonhols · 08/03/2017 23:42

Dulux Egyptian cotton is definitely Griege. Have it in living room and our bedroom.
