I am so useless with decorating! Currently other than my boys rooms everywhere is cream with dark wood or dark brown leather! It looks coordinated but that's all I can say.

Firstly I want to sort out my bedroom, we have a brown leather bed that has to stay, we have brown chests of drawers which also have to stay. Other than that I'm open to suggestions.

My Dh is very conservative , I am less so.
What I really want is something that all fits together and is as up to date as I can get without buying new furniture,
I need wall colours, curtains and bedding, please .
I have spent a week shopping and taking things back and spending ££ on tester pots and I'm now totally dejected but feel I've spent so much time on this I need to actually do something .
My DH is ok with whatever I do as long as I don't break the bank or ever mention it to him again!,

I have waster about eleventy billion hours on Pinterest and come up with a lot of rooms but can't source the colours and items .

Can someone with an ounce of taste please take pity on me!

Love this lamp but think a cream shade would be better

How decent is the furniture? My spare room stuff was pine and I painted it with chalk paint, in a very pale grey, it's quick and easy and doesn't need priming and also looks fab, really brightens the room.

On top of that you can dye the leather on your bed, I did mine cream and it's gorgeous, you buy the kit from leather restoration clinic online, furniture clinic I think and you'd never know it wasn't that color when I bought it.

Pinkpeanut27 · 20/02/2017 10:09

I'm
Not sure about the furniture ! Never thought about colouring it . I think I'm going to go with a quick fix for now then before I replace it I'll try what you suggest .

I chalked painted many a piece of furniture but might be a tad frightened to dye a whole leather bed!

PhilODox · 20/02/2017 10:19

With chocolaty brown, I really like pale baby blue, it's a lovely combination. Or you could go with a hot spicy orangey yellow- perhaps just the wall the bedhead is against, and the curtains?

justaweeone · 20/02/2017 15:14

Sorry wrong thread

Pinkpeanut27 · 27/02/2017 20:10

Ok Ive got the white bedding and the silver grey curtains , still got the brown furniture . I have some dark blue grey paint a bit airforce blue I think and I'm not loving it , it looks a bit cold and soulless , any suggestions ?

OP posts:
justaweeone · 27/02/2017 22:19

I'd take the paint back
Will have a think
Are you happy to post a photo as that will make a big difference

downwardfacingdog · 28/02/2017 07:40

Add in the copper accessories as suggested by justalweeone. That will warm in up. Get a blue with a hint of green in it - will be warmer. Are you painting all the walls? Feature walls are dated IMO.

Pinkpeanut27 · 28/02/2017 08:17

Can't really show it in a photo
I think you are right I need another blue . No not a feature wall all walls

I have used Dulux Timeless Breton Blue in our living room and brown leather sofa looks amazing against it but it's only on a couple of walls. I am about to use Quintessential Blue in the same range for our spare bedroom
