How much would you spend on a bed?

I know you're supposed to invest in the mattress, be DP and me both love the IKEA hard foam mattress. So that's sorted.

It's the bed frame that we're struggling to find. We've just bought our first house, so I'd like to avoid my previous IKEA renting mentality (they're all horrid this season anyway). Invest in smothering that'll last.

I'm not a lover of a divan, I prefer a wood frame and I seem to go for mid century styles.

The bed I've fallen for is an American brand and whilst I think the frame is worth the price, the shipping is $450! Shock

So, bed frames - what's your damage and was it worth it?

Try ebay if you are looking for wooden or metal bedframes. I have 4 bed frames for all the rooms and spent less than £200 in total. DD has a king size oak bed frame. Bought directly from a company in Italy. But when it arrived it was all in one piece and wouldn't go up the stairs. I bought it for £40 brand new and still in its box.

Definitely check for Ikea sizing on their mattresses bedframes duvets and duvet covers

I like that one too original but DP doesn't.

Off to eBay now... as West Elm have now gone back on their word and wont be stocking the bed I like in King size Angry Their customer service is abysmal.

We paid £380 for our divan and mattress from an independent furniture shop a couple of months ago. Same bed in Dreams was £££.

We're looking to get a new bed, but they range in price so much. I'm wondering how much is the right middle point for value for money? Any experience welcome! Thanks.
