Poster similar to Jaro Hess' Land of Make Believe, but not as pricey?

Hi,

I want a poster for the wall next to my daughter's bed. I am looking for something with a lot of detail on in that will keep her mind occupied when she is lying in bed telling me she is not sleepy yet. I have seen one by Jaro Hess from the 1930's entitled 'The Land of Mae Believe' that is just perfect. However the price tag for even a copy is upwards of 60 Euros. Can anyone recommend something similar? She is nearly 6 and has an active/enquiring mind. Budget approx. £20 unframed.

cant help I'm afraid, just wondered why you want to keep her mind busy when she is meant to be sleeping? to me that's like putting ice cubes in a pan whilst waiting for it to boil. completely defys the point

Would she like an M.C.Escher print? Not cutesy fairyland but you can trace patterns in them forever.

Totally different thing, but have you considered something like this? My DD used to love drifting off watching the stars.

Star projector

How about an underwater scene with coral reef - lots of detail at different levels.

I do agree with jamtart though. Proper darkness stimulate melatonin, which regulates sleep. Let her read a bit longer, or look at picture books, then dark. Luminous star stickers or planets on the ceiling are pretty without being too stimulating.
