So. Grey interiors. How long have they got?!

I like grey and there's so much of it in the shops but it's been around for so long, I keep thinking it must be about to go out of fashion any minute?

We've just moved house and have lots of decorating to do. Big windows to cover too, which will be expensive. I don't want it to look horribly dated in a year or two.

What do we think?

MrsEric from my not so extensive research (Houzz), i think next year's bathrooms are bright white with white marble (effect) / white on white texture and some really dark colour - darkest grey / brown / blue / black. Which of course is fantastic if you have space and windows in your bathroom, sadly I have neither

No windows in your bathroom? Shock

How do the, erm, aromas escape?

JaneAustinAllegro · 31/05/2016 16:26

turbo ceiling extractor fan. It's more the poor lighting and shower steam that bothers me. ANd the fact it's an en suite, which I loathe - it's basically having a loo in the corner of your bedroom. All wrong.

There was a similar thread to this a while back and one of the posters was saying that as we're all bored of the beiges and browns that where everywhere for a while grey is now a "Mega trend". As it's a neutral it's got longevity and won't be going anywhere for a while

FrancisdeSales · 31/05/2016 16:34

There are many shades of grey, a warm grey can be very soothing. It is a neutral but it has been the dominant neutral for most of the 21st century so far.

And people go on about having an en suite! Sounds a bit - claustrophobic, jane.

Hope you've got another bathroom you can use when you'd like to breathe while showering Grin

I still love grey, but apparently the new trend for kitchens is going to be a muted take on the 80s. I had a look. Much nicer than the 80s, but there is a new look around the corner.

also saw kitchens with dark chocolate brown cupboards and caramel coloured tiles.

also, metallics, kind of chocolate mettalic.

(this is just kitchens mind you) but I predict a more muted take on the 80s coming.

what the bloody hell would I know though
