Does this mythical creature even exist? Looking to paint an entire downstairs which will be North and South facing so my question is... What's the most versatile light grey in your opinion?

Will be going for sample pots today & so far have only one in mind Hmm

Laura Ashley Pale Dove Grey is lovely. I've bought it - still have to paint it up but chose that after about 10-13 tester pots!

Just to update... After 22 testers on various walls for 2 weeks we've I've gone for just walnut the first tester I bought and am about 1/3 way through the downstairs and I LOVE it, very light and fresh with a modern feel. It's definitely grey, doesn't look much like the tester tbh, which looked more greige.

Thanks everyone x

Can I join in to ask for recommendations please?! I need a colour for the entire hall, stairs and landings. I really want grey, and the tall landing window was intended to have silver curtains, but the carpet, which I can't afford to replace, is more of a beige.

Is there a grey out there that will tone with silver and with beige? I have Polished Pebble in one room and it just doesn't really go that well with the carpet.

Thank you anyone!

Another vote for Cornforth White. I tried f&b strong white in my lounge but it was all wrong and came out with a greenish tinge. I painted over it the same day!

I used Blackened in west facing rooms and it is utterly gorgeous. I think I might use it again in my new house but we are south facing so I will need to do a test. Polished Pebble is also on my list to try, as now, is just walnut. I find Cornforth White is very lavender-ish.

Another plea for recommendations for hall, stairs and landing (including actual banisters). No carpet yet so it's a blank canvas although we do have some tiling near the entrance which is a grey and cream colour (a lilac type grey - don't want that on the walls though). Carpet-wise we will go for something pretty neutral. Basically we are clueless about these things. Thanks!
