How much for decorator to paint hall, landing and stairs?

Hi

I'm just wondering what is a usual price to pay for this (plus a one bedroom) we have always done the decorating ourselves but don't have time at the moment. The quote we've had is for preparing the walls, 2 coats to ceiling, walls and woodwork for hall, landing and stairs plus bedroom (large single room) and the ceilings are not particularly high. Paint is included in the price. No wallpaper to strip etc. the quote is £800 and I didn't think it would be anywhere near this, am I living in a dream world or is this in the region you would expect for this work?

Omg! I've got a decorator in my house atm. She's removed all the old wallpaper from the hall/stairs/landing and is putting new paper up. The stair part alone is a 15 foot drop. She's charging me 250. Painting it would have been about 200...

She has done wall prep/filled in holes etc and works 9-4 without a lunch break. I feel very lucky now!!

How many days will she take Beautiful and how much painting will there be? That's very cheap.

She's not painting... apart from a white bit I'm leaving which she'll put white over. Tomorrow will be day 4 and she'll hopefully be done for lunchtime.

Wow, Beautiful, so that's about £10 an hour? Presume you have bought all materials? That is really very cheap indeed.

Yeh I bought the wallpaper (not white paint). She's pretty good so I've asked her to do our living room at weekend. It's quite a large room that needs painting and she's doing a feature wall (wallpaper that looks like book shelves) for £120 we're in Lincolnshire

We have hand our bedroom done this week. 2 days work at £100 a day.

It will cost me £800ish for painter to strip hall walls and ceiling of woodchip, prep, paper with lining paper and paint walls and cornice. All materials included.
No stairs or woodwork but it's a very large Victorian hall with high ceiling, and a passageway.
He's done work for me before and is excellent and doesn't overcharge, but his rate is, rightly, more than £10 per hour.

I think that's reasonable. Paint is expensive, and prepping the walls and particularly the woodwork is a time consuming job especially if you've got spindles and a banister.

We're going to be paying similar for the hall, stairs, landing, study, lounge and downstairs loo but we have to buy the paint which will add another couple of hundred.

I have just been quoted £800 to wallpaper my hall, stairs and landing, paint the ceilings and gloss the skirtings and stairs (with spindles), this does not include the wallpaper or paint. I have been told it should take him about a week if its done sooner then he will reduce the price, does this sound a fair price?

I paid £200 to have my bottom and top landings and stairs painted including glossing . I supplied my own paint. Took 2 days.

I’ve just been quoted £1000. No stripping of wallpaper but sanding and making walls good, bannisters, ceilings and painting walls. 5 days for two decorators so £100 each a day. Not bad for south east.

What satinwood/eggshell/gloss are you all using? I need my woodwork repainting throughout. It's almond white/cream from the previous owner.

I'd like a crisp white that doesn't yellow.

Was hoping to avoid F&B prices tbh. I thought my decorator would be able to recommend a brand but he didn't really want to commit! He also suggested white gloss which I'm not keen on

I've postponed the job for now until I'm more confident in my paint choices!

I have a 3 storey house the balustrade is knoty so needs treating and painting also the skirting going up to be painted
