What do we do now, that will be naff later?

The "feature wall" thread got me thinking. What are we doing to our homes, which seems seriously stylish now, but will soon become super naff?

My nominations:

Open plan living
French Grey
Anything made from wooden pallets

Nothing on my list is intrinsically naff, iPaid - not many things are - but they are at saturation point and will go out of fashion. People will consider them naff. Until the next time round Grin

Grey window frames / bifold door frames. We just ripped out brown window frames and think in a few years' time people will be doing the same for grey.

Black granite worktops.

Yes, Devora, but you and I will know that our metro tiles and Orla Kiely stuff are forever chic Smile

I painted my living room grey 4 years ago and I still love it now, the marks from the dc don't show! My dm on the other hand thinks it's naff and boring and grey sofas are to her the ultimate boring dumpy of frumpiness. I'm bored with everyone else having grey I thought I was being original. No idea how to decorate my new house next year.

Hmm, the grey thing vexes me. I like grey. My kitchen is grey.
So are the bannisters.
It's been grey for about 9 years, I don't want it to be naff, I liked it ages ago
And it'll be a bitch to paint over.

I love grey. I have always loved grey. It has taken me 14 years to persuade DH to have grey in our home and it's naff now? Fucks sake.

When we were house hunting we searched high and low for a house that had been structurally altered. I like individual rooms, doors, hallways. Hate the open plan shared living space crap!
