Hi
Have a look online at Newtonsfurniture.co.uk
I bought one of there super king beds however the rest of my pine furniture (dressing table, chair and chest of drawers)I painted with annie Sloan chalk paint in a soft grey and added new handles from Zara home on the dressing table drawer. The bedside tables are small round metal ones from ikea. No wardrobe as have a walk in
Overall it all works together

Dunhelm Mill used to have some French style stuff.

You're missing a trick if you've solid pine Smile Annie Sloan the mother fucker out of it!

Most of the high street stuff is particleboard and mdf, do you really want to swop solid wood for that?

EBay is brilliant for solid dark wood furniture and then you can paint it up in the Provençal style. A pine wardrobe could be painted and then the doors cut out, chicken wire and fabric put in - it can look amazing.

I've got a permanent watch on EBay for scabby bits of furniture that doesn't sell local to me for a tenner, I've had a marble washstand, a bedside table and two cupboards that way.

If you post pics of your furniture onto her we can all help you upcycle?

I have annie sloaned loads of our furniture. I bought an old wardrobe for our guest room from the charity shop for £20
I did buy a new bed as it was in more of a French style and was superking.
The other bed got painted a put in the guest room
Salvation Army charity shops often have cheap second hand furniture, also british heart foundation
However I think it is getting harder to find cheap furniture. I blame that Kirstie Alsop!! ;-)

If you Annie Sloan it, does it not flake off? Is doing something like that very easy as I'm shite with arts and craft type stuff and I'd hate for it to look cheap and nasty.
I was looking for mirrored bedroom furniture but it's quite expensive for my budget.

No flaking and very easy. Look at some of the tutorials on YouTube .

Laura Ashley. Wait for their 30% off. I think it's called Provençal, but I may well be wrong.

I got our bedroom furniture from Sweetpea and Willow, but it's quite expensive. You can get decent copies of their designs from eBay, also Next and Dunelm have some lovely pieces if you don't mind everything not being the exact same designs and just want an overall theme (Dunelm don't seem to sell wardrobes for most of their ranges, if at all).
