Will 70s stone clad fireplaces come in to fashion?

If I paint it am I slavishly following a fashion that I will later regret? I can't decide. I thought about painting the stones orange.

If there was one in my house I would decorate the house on 70s style with 70s furniture. Or remove it.

Not helpful I know.

That's helpful!

Is this coffee table in keeping with the 70s do you think?

expensive for ikea I think

The coffee table is very 70s.

I'd either keep the fireplace or remove it. Painting over stone will look a bit 'changing rooms' imo.

They're already starting to become fashionable, there are quite a few examples on pinterest. Can you post a picture?

If it is in a 70s house then leave it be and just go with the whole 70s vibe instead.

If it has been out in an older house Iight think about removing it and replacing with something more in keep with the original style.

Issy has it, I think. It will look great with some knowing nods to the era, but only if it hasn't already ruined (for example) a beautiful Victorian terrace. If it's in a boxy 70s house, or a modern flat with similar height ceilings etc, then you are onto a winner.
