Magnolia but not magnolia

I'm moving house in a couple of weeks and starting to plan all my colour schemes.
In the spare bedroom I've decided on a white and green colour scheme. I already have a white metal bed and white painted furniture with pine tops. The curtains will be white with green ticking stripes and the bedcovers will be mainly white with some green embroidery.
I'm keeping the existing carpet which is neutral.
So I'm looking for a neutral paint colour as white will be too cold (I'm in Scotland). Something that will act as a backdrop and provide some warmth. Magnolia but not magnolia! Any ideas?

kevin McCloud's range for Fired Earth has some good tinted whites - we have one in dining/kitchen area. It's warm and soft, but lovely

Another vote for Soft Linen by Crown.

The Dulux paint from the mixing service has a lovely shade called vanilla mist.

Goes beautifully with their green English Mist.
