How to get rid of the strange smell from the new sofa just delivered?

The new sofas we ordered from furniture village just arrived but a strange distinct smell has been noticed from the new sofa, it smells like kind of paint. Can anyone advise on how to get rid of the smell so we can enjoy the new sofas? many thanks.

It sounds like the foam is offgassing. Open the window and put a fan on it if you have one if you want to speed it up. It will stop smelling after a bit (up to a week is normal but probably 48 hours).
