We have a large hall but doesn't get much light, would like to paint with f & b paint as have a voucher to spend there. What colour have you got or suggest?

I like white tie, very pale but looks beautiful.

Skimming stone. Lovely.

I really really want to use "Elephant's Breath" in our hallway but DH says it is "too beige" Hmm

We've just painted our hall, kitchen and dining room Wimbourne White

I am very pleased with it. We have a very old house, some of which doesn't have good natural light, but it feels so much lighter and brighter.

I wouldn't use F&B in a hallway - doesn't wear well. We have Dulux Nutmeg White in their Endurance range, and it is nearly exactly the same as skimming stone from F&B which we have in our sitting room.

We have pavilion blue in our hallway. Skimming stone in living room. And dimpse In newly painted bedroom.

If you want a particular F&B colour, you can get it mixed by Dulux to wear much better!
The OP did say she has a voucher though.

we have shaded white below the dado and all white woodwork, ceiling and above dado,
dark wood floor ,stair carpet is sort of gold, dark wood console table with green leafy plants, and twin lamps
dark wood/antique gold framed pictures ,large wooden newgate clock, make the white walls look less clinical.

We have slipper satin which is a lovely colour but I agree with pp...wouldn't use f&b in the hall again as it marks terribly!

amazonianwoman · 03/01/2014 23:23

Shaded white. Go for modern emulsion if you're worried about it marking.

We have a dado rail in our house (original Edwardian not naff 1980s!) and have painted the lower half Down Pipe and the top half All white. Looks very striking and bright imo Smile
