best way to arrange furniture in a living room

The living room is 16'6 by 15'11(5.0 by 4.8m) and it opens to 12'9 by 10,4 (3.9 by 3.0m)conservatory via a sliding door.
We love having friends around and having large parties- say 14 to 15 people including us.
What sort of seating arrangements would be better ?Ideally I would like o open the conservatory - toying with the idea of changing the door tobifold or french doors
A corner modular sofa with arm chairs and pouffles?

We have a similar size lounge... We have two 8' (2.4m) sofas opposite each other with a large footstool in between ( that can also be used for extra seating ) . Then to the left we have the tv and to the right we have a fireplace with two fireside chairs, it's very social this way - and have had five people on each sofa easily ! SofaSofa do even longer sofas if you want larger (2.7m ) .... Corner sofas take up a lot of room but you cant get so many people on them - so possibly not the best solution for many guests ( we have a U shape seating arrangement outside - with firebowl in the middle) and the corners cant be filled with a person as your knees need room too IYSWIM ?! If your conservatory can used as a kind of extension to your lounge - seriously consider the same style/ fabric furniture in the conservatory as the lounge to make it all flow better...

What do you think of having a bifold doors between the lounge and conservatory?
Or can you suggest an alternative to the present sliding door between them.

well these sliding Barn doors seen to be the next big thing - either solid or glazed - but they don't suit every situation - you need enough space either side of the opening

that's a link to an ideabook on Houzz about sliding doors - if I'm honest - I think that little fingers are less likely to be trapped if the mechanism is top fixed like these - rather than folding sliding doors - but that's just my opinion ! depends on the age of you little ones too !!

Placing your living room furniture at the right place is of utmost importance. It defines the look of the room as well as draws admiration from the guests.If you have all your large pieces of furniture on the same side of the room, the space is going to look completely off balance. You don't want a large sofa next to a large recliner and then a small chair and side table on the other side of the room. Be sure that you mix your larger and smaller pieces so that the look of the room is balanced both horizontally and vertically.

Have looked at the barn doors on houzz, would it keep the heat in if it is between the lounge and conservatory.
We can easily accommodate two 2.4 m sofas, may be a 2.8 and 2.4 m sofa across each wall.
