If you have white metro tiles on your bathroom walls, what do you have on your floors?

Just as the title asks I need inspiration for floor tiles to go with white metro wall tiles in a small bathroom. All rather urgent as must order tomorrow. I was thinking black and white chequered tiles for the floor but I'm not good at these things and am worried they will not go. Any thoughts?

Black and white checkers or octagon and dot would be great.

I've JUST had this done! White metro tiles (not bevelled) and black and white checked floor (vinyl). Looks fab, I'm so pleased with it. I spent forever trying to make sure the white colours were the same and they're bloody not! But somehow the eye doesn't notice.

We have slate tiles on the floor. Previously had them in a kitchen and had slate-effect tiles on the floor then. Works well.

I think checkerboard would also work well.

Rather than matching the white metro tiles, our floor has cream and off-black tiles. But, the light hits floors differently from walls, so even the same colour may look quite different.

Where did people get black and white vinyl checks from? DP has been looking at Amtico and Karndean which don't do plain black or white, but he thinks vinyl won't look good enough.

Small white hexegon tiles with grey grout - called penny tiles in the US. I've also used them for the splash back in my kitchen.
