Fab holiday for dh, ds(3) and I?

Ok, am looking for some inspiration.

We love holidays, but cannot think of anywhere to go in Sept.

In the past we have done Canaries etc, typical holiday resort but usually 4/5* hotel. Would like something a wee bit different this time, but cant think what.

We were in Tenerife in May, lovely hotel, but weather was pants, spent a fortune (£100 on average food and soft drinks), flight home got cancelled due to ash, so had a mare getting home, totally rubbish, expensive holiday really

Has to be hot warm, plenty for ds to do - I would love Maldives type place but fear there wouldnt be anything for dh ds to do.

We have done quite a few city breaks (although usually without ds), have enjoyed them, but would like to combine with a bit of relaxation too?

Budget not really important, lovely holiday for us all is.

Any ideas would be most welcome, at the moment I have thought of everything from center parcs to Disney Paris to Maldives and crusies. Still cant come up with the right answer

Somewhere like Pagel or Caserio del Mirador.

France, Greece or Sardinia?

Cornwall hotel, self catering or Scotland?

Sardinia was the Forte hotel.

Lots of history with Roman sites and great beaches.link hopefully. We like Corsica as well.

Thanks, will look at all of those links.

Forgot to mention that we live in Scotland, so practically everywhere is a PITA to fly to, but will investigate. May need to accept doing 2 flights to save us from Tenerife for the 3rd holiday running.

Sorry did just reread your wish for warmth and location. Not exactly Cornwall or Scotland then.Would bother with Greece either.

Have a look at Mr and Mrs Smith and boltholes as well.

Have done center parks and is OK but not great but the children enjoyed it.Wouldn't think the Maldives would be great with a 3 year old.

Thats the problem we have tbh.

I want sun/luxury/good food/wee bit of childcare perhaps.

Dh isnt bothered about sun, hates lying by the pool, and needs to be wandering around entertaining ds doing stuff.

Ds is generally happy anywhere, we havent done more than 5 1/2 hour flight, but I understand its a necessary evil. He needs to have a few bits - kids club or somewhere we can walk to/around to fill in a few hours, otherwise it becomes a very long holiday

Just come back from Pine Cliffs Sheraton in Portugal, not cheap but some good deals out there.
It was fabulous, childcare great, and spa, gym, tennis etc,and of course the golf. Ten minutes from Vilamoura, didnt go into Albufeira. It is a stand alone resort though, but huge, plenty of restaurants
Fly to Faro.

Or there is the Almyra in Cyprus, that was on our list. Again pricey, but fab childcare

The big lakes in Italy north of Milan are well worth a look, seem to meet most of your requirements.
