Bambino has not arrived yet but already starting to think about planned trip to Hong Kong late Sept/early Oct (Hsbnd's bf wedding). we are staying in nice hotel in Kowloon (pool, spa etc) but worrying about buggy, nappies poss formula (if bFeeding does not work!) and any other issues that a 12-14 week baby may have in HK! Appreciate buggy may be a nightmare on th main island - but obviously need to take one (I think?!) any tips gratefully received...

HK is really not buggy friendly in many populous places (lots of escalators), though not so bad on Kowloon side. I guess that you will be using taxis not public transport so getting around shouldn't be too much of a problem. Supermarkets (Wellcome and ParknShop) sell disposable nappies and formula just like in UK (if that is where you are). Hotel staff will point you in the right direction

It can still be quite hot at that time of year so would recommend a shade for the buggy.

I hope that you have a wonderful time!

thanks for the advice - I can't imagine going without a buggy is all but with husband so he can deal with the escalators! Thank you

At least baby will have had a lest two courses of her routine jabs. . . .(innoculations)
You will of course be able to buy nappies and formula if you run out. but try to take enough for the time you are there.
Sun hats for baby
Sun cream
Cool clothing
sunshade
sterilising tablets / unit

When there you may need cool drinking water for baby (bottled?)

Am afraid its the 'kitchen sink' with this aged baby. You do need quite a bit of stuff.
Good luck !

You'll be fine, HK is a great place for babies, and you will get lots of attention (especially on the MTR (underground).

Definately not buggy friendly but we manage with a lightweight collapsible one, with a tiny baby a sling would be perfect!

You will be able to buy everything you may need.

I wouldn't use bottled water for a baby, tap water is as good as UK so just boil it. Bottled water is 'distilled' and has minerals etc in.

Have a great time - its perfect time of year to visit.

tbh, i think that if you can persevere with bf, it will make your life so much easier!

you'll have food on tap. and won't have to worry about taking equipment at all..no steriliser/bottles/formula/water worries/kettle etc.. if you bf on demand, there will also be no need to give your baby a drink of water as he or she will get what they need from you..

i would use a sling(something like an ergo stle) or a wrap and just take (or buy when you're out there!) a lie down flat buggy for when you'll not be travelling out and about.

i'd not take outfits for the baby as such, but just all in ones..babygrows or vests with poppers...you can get nice outside type ones as well as underwear type ones iykwim?

sounds very exciting!
