Hi, We thought we weren't going to be able to go then went in to thomson and have got a week in Aquitaine with Thomsson Alfresco, 29th August for a week. It cost £380 basic for 3 of us... Good luck xx

I need to go 22nd - 30 August which leads up to BH Week and before Kids go back to school so the prices are still fairly high.

What is Thomson Alfresco btw?

It's too early according to my 4-5 hols a year jammy cow sis. She never books more than 4-5 weeks ahead. Starts off with teletext holidays to get rough cost, then checks flight prices with airlines to see how much of hol is that bit IYSWIM. Finally, checks reviews of hotel on tripadvisor. HTH.

Thomson Alfresco is basically a campsite abroad mainly France, Holland and Italy. We are staying in a chalet/mobile home type thing (they call them puccini's). Worth a look!

The reviews on tripadvisor are always really bloody negative!! The times I thought I had found dream hol to be told there were regular muggings, it was dirty, wouldn't send your worst enemy there etc etc. It is best to know beforehand I know and I too would recommend tripadvisor however x

Thomson Alfresco is a real find. We just booked with them thanks to this thread. They have the same camp sites as Eurocamp and Keycamp but half the price. Maybe the chalets/mobile homes are more basic or in less attractive sections of the parks but the prices are much much lower.

Sooo excited now.

we have just spent a week in a Thomson Alfresco mobile home. It was totally fab. We had a Rossini - the smallest and it was more than adequate for the four of us. The reviews we read were also negative but, cos we had bagged a bargain, we didn't rely on this and figured anything would be better than we were expecting!
