Hubby usually working at weekends so I get a bit fed up stuck in. But its difficult with the ages. What kind of thing can we do. Most of my friends are busy playing proper families so I deffo dont want to hang around with them. So its just the three of us.

Apart from walking how do we all come back refeshed and satisfied? Got car but not keen to travel too far on a Saturday.

I'm not far from Cardiff if that helps.

At those ages the children will probably be quite happy just pottering at a park/playground. we also find we can spend a while in the library just looking at the books.

We visited Cardiff when my DC were (just) 2 and not-quite 4 and they really liked St Fagans and Techinquest (good value season ticket for this if you live locally).

Park
Swimming
Softplay
Free museums
Beach (Llantwit Majors for rockpooling, Barry for sandcastles)
Tintern for picnic and walk

You and the 4 year old can have fun packing a picnic and head off to the countryside.

Would it be worth getting a season ticket for National Trust or English Heritage or a local zoo? Sorry I don't know your area.

Haha I live in the countryside liliputlady.

Cant go swimming is you need one on one so thats difficult and no way could I cope with a mad 4 year old and baby.

Softplay we do that in the week there are loads around here.

Museums not sure if I can cope with that yet think they are a bit young (and wild).

Yes, agree with beach.
