I know its going to be hot and we will stay out of the midday heat however as he will be nearly 12 months old is it worth investing in a uv tent or will he not stay in it?

Any other ideas/hints to protect him from the sun?

If you keep him in the shade as much as possible around the pool they will have umbrellas etc - also on the beach. It will be HOT HOT, but that should not rule out having a great time. The Turks love children and babies and go out of their way to be helpful. Just be sensible , lots of factor 50, a hat and shades and no sun between 11 and 3 really, also plenty of water to drink. Some parents recommend those UV suits , but I hate them.
Have fun , wish I was going

I lived in Turkey when my daughter was a baby and I used to keep her inside or in the shade during the hottest part of the day. A UV suit is great for when you are at the beach plus lots of sun cream and a hat. Also take him in the water to cool him down.

Give him lots of bottled water to drink, not tap water as it has too many minerals, which he wont be used to.

I'm not sure about a tent, I would imagine it would be too hot in there.

Have a great time, we are going back inaugust this year again for a holiday.

Bear in mind that Ramadan starts around second week of August so that may affect places that are open - depends which part of Turkey you are in

It wont affect tourist resorts, everything will still be open as usual, you probably wont even notice it is Ramazan.
