Best Canary Island for sun in November

We were hoping to go to Playa Blanca Lanzarote in Sept as seems perfect beach destination with 2 young kids. Thought end of Sept would be ideal weather - hot but not too hot.

Have now had to change hols to first 2 weeks in Nov - will it still be warm and dry then??
Have this fear of pitching up there for 2 weeks and it being cool and wet - in which case could stay in UK and go somewhere with lots of indoor facilities.

Any suggestions of where in the Canaries would maximise our chance of good weather??
Thanks
Kat

No experience with lanzarote, but plenty with tenerife, which is fine in early november, as long as you stay in the south. Avoid north tenerife (puerto de la cruz, santa cruz) which is a lot cooler. South is fine, but be sure to find a hotel with heated pool. To be extra sure of sunshine, I would say Red Sea (Hurgada, Sharm el Sheik..)

Might not be bikini weather in Playa Blanca in Nov, as its quite windy. You could bve lucky though. Best bet would be Tenerife, as its warmer there in general, as log as you stick to south

I went to Playa Blanca one December and was fine wandering around in a bikini some of the time. It was breezy some days but I don't seem to have too many clothes on in most of the photos so it must have been ok! I have been to Tenerife too which is nice.

Hi there.
I live and work in Tenerife in childcare and last winterwas very warm indeed withtemperatures or around 24/26 degrees in the day and 16/18at night.

Yes, it is possible toget a breeze but thattends to be all it is ... a breeze which is welcoming as it helps keep you cool under the warm sun.

If you need advice etc on hotels please let me know and i will domy best to help and advise.

Lisa.

Lisa - we are heading out a week on Monday (3rd) - cant come quick enough!!

Oh actually quick question - we havent booked transfers yet - we are staying at Mare Nosturm resort in between LA & LC (I think) - are we best booking transfers or just jumping in a taxi?

Lisa2 · 23/04/2010 23:42

Hiya.
You are in a fab resort in a great cenrtal area. You will love the hotel i am sure.

Well, to give you an idea, it will be between 20 and 25 euros in a taxi to get to where your staying so maybe have a look at the transfer rates offered to you and decide from there.

Have a wonderful time!!
P.S- the weather has been FAB.

We were in Playa Blanca @ Christmas and swam in the sea on Christmas day

Reenie2 · 24/04/2010 20:35

Cheers for all the info.
Will have a look at south Tenerife too..
As for bikini weather - haven't been seen in one for 20 years so no worries if I miss out on wearing one - shorts & T shirt is fine!!

Southern tenerife was brilliant last November (early Nov)

geordieminx · 24/04/2010 21:18

Friends were in Lanzarote over easter, just got back, they said it was warm(ish) but not lazing round the pool weather - infact the pool was so cold their 7 year old refused to go in it

dinkystinky · 24/04/2010 21:20

We were in Lanzarote back in Feb Geordie - was warm but rained 4 out of the 7 days we were there (not all day thank god). Definitely think Southern Tenerife has more stable weather..

Lisa2 · 28/04/2010 01:09

It was 31 degrees today in Tenerife with glorious sunshine.

geordieminx · 28/04/2010 14:56

You are making me Lisa - its cold and wet and windy in Glasgow

Lisa2 · 28/04/2010 20:58

If you want a couple of evenings off without your little one's just let me know.x

geordieminx · 28/04/2010 21:20

Lisa - normally I would have bitten your hand off at an offer like that, but I am unexpectedly returning to work when we get back from hols... after 3 years at home with him - so I wont be letting him out of my sight. I'm missing him already!

Thank you for the offer though!

Lisa2 · 29/04/2010 00:43
